Make A Wish

Chi Omega Community Involvement

With its strong influence in the six purposes established by Chi Omega’s founders, philanthropy and community service play a large part of the life of its members. In 2002, Chi Omega announced the Chi Omega/Make-A-Wish alliance. Since the start of the partnership with Make-A-Wish, Chi Omega has raised over $6.5 million and given over 400,000 volunteer hours. The Make-A-Wish Foundation recognizes Chi Omega as one of their Cause Champion Sponsors.

At Arizona State University, Chi Omega’s philanthropic events to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation are held once each semester. In the fall, members hold a silent auction during Parent’s Weekend. In the spring, the large all- campus philanthropy is held where other Greek organizations are invited to participate. Each organization pays an entrance fee and participates in fundraising. All the money raised throughout the year is donated to the Make- A-Wish Foundation.

Spring 2011 we held our Chi O Casino Philanthropy. Over 15 Greek organizations participated in raising over $2500 to benefit children with life-threatening illnesses.

Fraternity Philanthropy Involvement

At ASU, Chi Omega participates in three fraternity philanthropies each semester to broaden the spectrum of philanthropic involvement and support other Greek organizations.
