Chi Omega Community Involvement
One of Chi Omega's Six Purposes is philanthropy and community service. Our Founders thought it important for sisters to devote time to causes greater than themselves. In 2002, Chi Omega announced the Chi Omega/Make-A-Wish alliance. In the first four years of service with Make-A-Wish, Chi Omega has raised over $2 million and given over 100,000 volunteer hours. The Make-A-Wish Foundation presented two awards to the Fraternity at the Make-A-Wish Sponsor Recognition Luncheon held in Phoenix, AZ in 2004. Chi Omega received the Wishmaker award for volunteer hours given and the Gold Sponsor Award for funds raised.Please visit the Make-A-Wish website at www.wishaz.org.
At Arizona State Chi Omega's Make a Wish Philanthropy is held every year in the spring. This past year in 2008 we held a cook-off and game day where 14 of ASU's fraternities participated and competed to win. Each fraternity paid $100 to participate in our philanthropy and all of the money raised was donated to the Make a Wish Foundation.

Fraternity Philanthropy Involvement
At ASU Chi Omega participates in 3 fraternity philanthropies a semester. A few of the philanthropies we've participated and placed in recently are shown below.2nd Place: Delta Tau Delta (Trike-la-Thon)
Events: Queen Competition, Movie night at Scottsdale drive-in, race day (trike racing).
Money raised went to Bleed Purple, a foundation that supports college students battling cancer.

Events: Judge Roast, Synchronized Swimming, Flag Football tournament.
Money raised went to ASU cancer research.

Events: Talent Night (Hair Flip and House Cheer), Athletic Competition (Glam Rock Flag Football, Obstacle Course) Fashion Show (house sash, brown bag outfit, fashion jeopardy, house-off).
Money went to GLSEN Phoenix, an organization that works to ensure a safe school for all students regardless of sexual orientation and gender identity.
